Installing the GPS Interface updates

GPS Interface updates are published from time to time as new models are added. The interface itself is in two parts

The files you download are compressed files to save bandwidth and shorten the download time if you are using a dial-up internet connection. Save these files to your PC

make a note of where you save the files - it does not have to be to the PP50 directory as shown

when the download is complete click on "Open Folder" and locate the downloaded file - this will usually be highlighted

Double click the file name to start the decompression process

ensure that the destination directory is your ProPlan directory (by default this will be C:\program files\pp50

Unzip the files. If you are asked to overwrite existing files click YES.

In order to connect to Skyforce GPS units you must also install SM30EMPC.DLL which can be downloaded from our web site. To interface with Garmin GPS units with a USB interface you must also install the USB drivers supplied with your GPS.

To communicate with your GPS start ProPlan ( the interface can only be used within ProPlan and cannot function as an independant programme). Create a route or recall a route from the routes database and then click on the GPS Upload button

On the right hand side of the window you will see a list of all supported GPS models

To upload the route and waypoints first select the GPS manufacturer then allocate the route a Route ID. Next press the upload route button to start the transfer. If you are using a USB GPS interface (Garmin 96, 96C and 296,495,496,695) you must first click on Configure Transfer and select USB Port then click Apply.

The list of supported GPS units will now change
